There is a CEGEP and a university in the town of Rimouski, 65 kilometers from the location of the residence. There is also a CEGEP in Rivière-du-Loup, 50 km away.

The town of Trois-Pistoles is very pleasant and offers multiple services: a hospital open 24/7, a GMF-U with quick access to a doctor, grocery stores, restaurants, several sports facilities (swimming pool, arena), a track cycling, hiking trails and many other amenities. There are 3 primary schools as well as a secondary school. Activities are regularly organized by the municipality and cultural organizations, which makes it an entertaining city. A storytelling festival and numerous musical performances attract many visitors. A public market takes place in the summer. During the tourist season, Trois-Pistoles is connected by a ferry to the town of Escoumins on the North Shore, 25 minutes from Tadoussac and the mouth of the Saguenay Fjord. Being close to nature reinforces the feeling of serenity.
